CEU Erasmus+ Intern, June-October 2012
"I studied Social Theology in the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece before interning at the CEU Center for Religious Studies. After that, I went on to pursue a master’s degree and a research master’s degree in KU Leuven, Belgium. Both my master’s theses are focused on empirical qualitative research, the first one being about the connection of New Age spirituality and the straight-edge punk milieu and the second one being about the way theologians and religious studies scholars perceive their own academic fields and the possible connections/differences between them.
I had the honor of being the first Erasmus+ intern at CEU’s Center for Religious Studies. I had the chance to work with amazing people from all around the globe, get involved with lectures and seminars - from organizing to conducting research –, and to assist with a book project.
I would definitely suggest CEU as the place to be, Erasmus or not, even for a semester: It is for sure the best work experience I've had so far. I gained a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience that has been extremely useful. There would be no way I would have moved on to pursue an academic career if it wasn’t for the inspiration I got from the people and academic atmosphere of CEU."
