The Center for Religious Studies honors each year its students and junior members who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and excellence in their academic pursuits in the field of Religious Studies.
We are delighted to announce that the Executive Committee of the Center for Religious Studies at Central European University has granted The Best Master’s Thesis Award for the Advanced Certificate in Religious Studies in the Academic Year 2023/2024 to Kseniia Murastova of the CEU Department of History for her thesis entitled West, East and Discourses of Peace and War in the Public Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church (1943 – late 1940s). Based on archival research, the thesis studies the political and ideological realignment of the Russian Orthodox Church with the Soviet state under Stalin in the immediate postwar situation.
